The Colorado College men's tennis team won its second straight match with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Linfield University Sunday morning in McMinnville, Ore.
 
Linfield jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the three doubles matches. Aiden Little and Jack Delafield won at the No. 1 position, 8-7(5) over Wilhelm Saiga and Nick Gabelman, while CC's No. 3 team of August Knox and Nick Bishop fell in a tiebreak, 8-7(4) to Brooks Lerfald and B. Fuentes Gilbert. The No. 2 squad of Lucas Pastor and Nate Beerman lost to Rogue Stone and Seth Lee, 8-6.
 
In singles play, the Tigers rallied to win four of the six matches, including two of the first three matches off the court. Pastor downed Stone, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(4) at the No. 2 spot, while Beerman rallied to win in three sets as well, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, over Lerfald at No. 3 to even the match at 3-3.
 
August Knox won easily, 6-4, 6-1, over Lee at the No. 4 position, then Andrew Kaelin clinched the team match with his fourth consecutive victory at the No. 6 spot, 6-1, 6-2, over Matous Young.
 
Delafield was the final Tiger off the court but dropped an exciting, 6-7(5), 6-4, 1-0(7), decision to Alexander Rosenquist.
 
"Linfield came ready to play and brought great energy," head coach Anthony Weber said. "Nate had to dig deep in singles to keep us alive.  August has been so tough at No. 4 and continued to fight for a big win today."

The Tigers return to action on Monday, March 27, for their final match of the spring break trip against Willamette University in Salem, Ore., beginning at 12 pm (MT).
